This role is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients within the hospital. It involves direct patient interaction, ensuring patient identification, assisting with transfers, and delivering them to their appointments or other designated locations.
Responsibilities
- Arrive at the unit with the specified transport vehicle
- Retrieve charts and/or cards from the nursing station
- Greet patients by name and identify them by armband
- Introduce themselves to parents, patients, and nursing staff
- Assist patients and/or nursing with physical transfer onto the vehicle
- Transport patients to their appointments
- Transport deceased patients to the Morgue
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching
- Ability to read and write English
