About This Role

This role involves providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to patients and families within a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring efficient patient flow and managing various business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide check in and checkout support to patients
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families
  • Facilitate business processes for efficient patient flow
  • Provide guest services including wayfinding and information
  • Accompany patients to clinic suites or ancillary services as needed
  • Schedule appointments, tests, and orders
  • Process all patient payments (co-pays, outstanding balances)
  • Confirm patient charges, collect payments, balance receipts, and reconcile cash collections
  • Navigate electronic medical records, maintain business work queues, and manage in-baskets
  • Verify and update patient information, obtain referrals and/or authorizations

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience; Clerical experience necessary, preferably in a medical setting.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within an ambulatory setting
  • Experience with an electronic medical record
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
