Patient Service Representative

About This Role

Provide essential secretarial and phone support for an Obstetrics and Gynecology practice, ensuring accurate patient information, efficient scheduling, and effective communication to promote quality daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide secretarial and phone support for the organization
• Obtain and enter patient information correctly into the EMR
• Perform patient scheduling
• Manage electronic and phone messages
• Manage and track outgoing referrals
• Address patient balances and perform charge entry within the EMR
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and clerical inventory
• Answer a high volume of incoming calls from patients
• Work with providers, managers, and staff to promote quality and cost-effective daily operations
• Maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, their families, the public, and co-workers

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare
• Proven “team player” experience
• Demonstrated experience with computer use

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare

Nice to Have

• Certified Medical Assistant or healthcare related Associates Degree
• Demonstrated competence in interpersonal and intra professional relations
• Demonstrated competence in acute care patient management/organization
• Demonstrated commitment to collaboration with physician to individualize and enhance patient care
• Demonstrated Experience in medical billing
• Knowledge of Medent or other EMR systems
