Provide essential support to the organization by handling daily activities like patient registration, scheduling, and referrals, ensuring quality patient services through established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, and direct callers or initiate triage slips
- Greet and direct patients, salespeople, and visitors with courtesy and discretion
- Manage calls and address patient requests and complaints effectively
- Read, comprehend, and apply knowledge about insurance co-pays, deductibles, and related information
- Detect and correct errors, complete forms, obtain needed information, and maintain logs and files
- Register patients and verify accurate and up-to-date patient records in CPS
- Accurately enter confidential personal health and financial information into CPS and verify insurance
- Manage files, initiate and reply to record requests, and handle document scanning/faxing/emailing while complying with privacy laws
- Work walk-in patients into the schedule
- Collect and apply patient payments, adjustments, and reconcile daily cash reports
- Comply with federal and local patient privacy laws
- Verify patient and/or guardian identification
- Assist in coverage for other areas and perform other tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- One year of customer service experience
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Skilled at working with diverse patient populations
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Data entry skills with accuracy
Qualifications
- High school, G.E.D. or equivalent
- 1 year of customer service experience
Nice to Have
- Experience in a medical office
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records Systems
