About This Role

This role is responsible for safely transporting patients between departments and upon admission or discharge, ensuring efficient patient flow within hospital and clinic settings. It involves handling patient records and maintaining equipment under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Transport newly admitted patients to assigned rooms in a timely manner
• Deliver clinic records, admit forms, and charge cards to nursing units and ancillary departments
• Locate and maintain equipment used in the department
• Transport patients to and from Hospital/Clinic ancillary departments via wheelchairs, stretchers or beds as requested in a safe and caring manner
• Transport discharged patients and belongings from nursing units and ancillary departments
• Take responsibility for personal development and required training
• Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication style

Requirements

• Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to present information clearly and professionally
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
