Patient Care Technician

About This Role

This role involves assisting patients in the Intermediate Care Unit (5ABCD) by performing delegated tasks within the scope of an unlicensed patient care provider, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and assist in meeting the needs of patients
• Perform tasks delegated by the Registered Nurse within the range of responsibilities for an unlicensed patient care provider
• Follow the direction of the Registered Nurse, Lead/Charge Nurse, Nursing Director/Assistant Nursing Director, and House Supervisor
• Accept responsibility for patients when performing delegated functions
• Perform delegated duties in accordance with established methods and procedures
• Work some weekends and holidays
• Rotate shifts and units as required
• Perform CPR

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED equivalent
• Ability to write legibly
• Ability to speak articulately
• Ability to follow directions accurately
• Ability to plan and organize work
• Ability to work under supervision
• Willingness to accept responsibility for patients in their care
• Ability to perform delegated duties in accordance with established methods and procedures

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent

Nice to Have

• Successfully passed a State Approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) exam with active certification
• Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Recent equivalent experience who successfully pass the Skill Assessment
