Patient Care Technician

About This Role

This Patient Care Technician role involves providing direct patient care, considering age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs, under the direction of a registered nurse in an oncology services department. The technician will ensure a clean, safe, and supportive patient care environment at Trinity Health Livonia.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care as delegated by the RN to identify and attain treatment goals
• Assist patients in completing ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
• Demonstrate sterile or aseptic technique as appropriate when performing delegated activities
• Assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe, and conducive to patient/family well-being
• Record patient information and required data in appropriate areas to meet documentation and charging requirements
• Complete delegated unit-specific activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) OR successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course OR Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

• Successful completion of CENA, PCT, MA, or EMT course
• Completion of nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program for student nurses
