This role involves providing direct patient care and technical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including monitoring equipment, performing delegated procedures, and assisting with patient admissions and discharges.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Perform delegated procedures of a specialized and technical nature
- Set-up and monitor specialized clinical equipment
- Perform delegated clinical or laboratory procedures
- Change dressings and assist with wound care
- Assist with admitting and discharge procedures
- Develop and recommend changes in patient care activities to improve quality
- Obtain vital signs, temperature, height/length, weight, oxygen saturation and pain scores
- Collect blood, urine, stool, sputum specimens
- Assist patients with routine personal hygiene and ADLs
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities including moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide program
- Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program
- Basic computer skills
- Course work in an Allied Health field
