About This Role

This role involves providing direct patient care and technical support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including monitoring equipment, performing delegated procedures, and assisting with patient admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Perform delegated procedures of a specialized and technical nature
  • Set-up and monitor specialized clinical equipment
  • Perform delegated clinical or laboratory procedures
  • Change dressings and assist with wound care
  • Assist with admitting and discharge procedures
  • Develop and recommend changes in patient care activities to improve quality
  • Obtain vital signs, temperature, height/length, weight, oxygen saturation and pain scores
  • Collect blood, urine, stool, sputum specimens
  • Assist patients with routine personal hygiene and ADLs

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities including moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Nice to Have

  • Completion of a Certified Nurse Aide program
  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program
  • Basic computer skills
  • Course work in an Allied Health field
