About This Role

Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical unit under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role also involves unit secretary duties and cardiac rhythm monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate patient care
• Function as a unit secretary on a patient care area
• Perform activities of daily living for patients
• Observe and analyze cardiac rhythm of patients on telemetry and hardwire monitor (Monitor Technician duties)
• Maintain accurate record keeping and logging of cardiac arrhythmias
• Adhere to rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Age appropriate patient care and/or healthcare clerical experience

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Age appropriate patient care and/or healthcare clerical experience required; previous Nurse Aide or Unit Clerk experience preferred.
