About This Role

This role involves serving as the initial point of contact in the Emergency Department to ensure accurate and timely patient identification, arrival, and armband application. You will provide customer service to visitors and families, and perform administrative functions at the patient's bedside, including demographic and insurance verification, consent forms, and admissions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely patient identification, arrival, and application of armbands as the first point of contact in the Emergency Department
  • Provide customer service and support for visitors and families
  • Perform functions at the patient’s bedside including accurate capture of demographic and insurance verification
  • Obtain signatures for consent and complete admissions
  • Conduct financial navigation, copay collections, check-out, and coordinate transfers/direct admits
  • Ensure the accuracy of the patient’s bill including account follow-up five days post discharge

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months experience in healthcare
  • Computer and data entry experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively with electronic systems

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of six months experience in healthcare
