As a Patient Access Representative, you will provide extraordinary customer service to patients at the Wound Healing Center, serving as the first point of contact for in-person registration, scheduling, and phone interactions to facilitate access to care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify demographics
- Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
- Inform patients about documents and capture necessary signatures
- Establish and assign financial responsibility, assisting with arrangements according to policies
- Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
- Work through registration work queues to resolve errors or denied insurance claims
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with nursing team and providers to meet patient needs
- Obtain and coordinate referrals, and conduct pre-authorizations
- Arrange interpreter services
- Check patients in and out
- Operate multi-line phone
Requirements
- Customer service skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post-secondary education helpful.
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Six months' customer service experience desired.
Nice to Have
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Medical terminology helpful
- BLS for certain locations and/or settings
