About This Role

As a Patient Access Representative, you will provide extraordinary customer service to patients at the Wound Healing Center, serving as the first point of contact for in-person registration, scheduling, and phone interactions to facilitate access to care.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify demographics
  • Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
  • Inform patients about documents and capture necessary signatures
  • Establish and assign financial responsibility, assisting with arrangements according to policies
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
  • Work through registration work queues to resolve errors or denied insurance claims
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments with nursing team and providers to meet patient needs
  • Obtain and coordinate referrals, and conduct pre-authorizations
  • Arrange interpreter services
  • Check patients in and out
  • Operate multi-line phone

Requirements

  • Customer service skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post-secondary education helpful.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Six months' customer service experience desired.

Nice to Have

  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Medical terminology helpful
  • BLS for certain locations and/or settings
