About This Role

As a Patient Access Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment. This role involves managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and handling financial arrangements within the Sheldon Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and verify demographics
  • Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
  • Inform patients about necessary documents and capture signatures
  • Establish and assign financial responsibility for services
  • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments with nursing teams and providers
  • Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorization
  • Arrange interpreter services
  • Check patients in and out
  • Operate a multi-line phone system

Requirements

  • Customer service skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education helpful
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Six months' customer service experience desired.

  • Medical terminology knowledge
