Provide extraordinary customer service as a Patient Access Representative for Sanford Health, positively impacting the patient experience as the first point of contact, either on the phone or in the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify demographics
- Create, scan, and route documents or electronic forms
- Inform patients what the document is and capture signatures on necessary paperwork
- Establish and assign financial responsibility, assisting with arrangements according to policies and procedures
- Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
- Work through the registration work queue to address and resolve registration errors or denied insurance claims
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with the nursing team and providers to meet patient needs
- Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorization
- Arrange interpreter services
- Check patients in/out
- Operate multi-line phone
Requirements
- Customer service skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Six months' customer service experience desired.
Nice to Have
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary education
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Medical terminology helpful
- Six months' customer service experience
