Patient Access Representative

About This Role

Facilitate patient registration and ensure accurate demographic and financial information is collected. Serve as a liaison between patients and virtual registration/scheduling teams, managing appointments and providing cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and facilitate patient registration process in a timely, professional, and courteous manner
• Interview patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information
• Obtain copies of insurance cards and other forms of identification, and update patient information in the medical record
• Perform point of service data collection, including identifying and collecting patient co-payments and down payments
• Reconcile the cash drawer and report daily deposit records associated with the collection of co-payments
• Maintain all assigned work queues according to supervisor’s instructions and guidance
• Interact positively and in a caring manner with patients, co-workers, and others to provide highest level of customer service
• Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and refer to clinical team as needed
• Sanitize registration equipment between each use and restock basic supplies
• Schedule follow-up appointments per the physician’s order
