Facilitate patient registration and ensure accurate demographic and financial information is collected. Serve as a liaison between patients and virtual registration/scheduling teams, managing appointments and providing cost estimates.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and facilitate patient registration process in a timely, professional, and courteous manner
- Interview patients to obtain complete demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information
- Obtain copies of insurance cards and other forms of identification, and update patient information in the medical record
- Perform point of service data collection, including identifying and collecting patient co-payments and down payments
- Reconcile the cash drawer and report daily deposit records associated with the collection of co-payments
- Maintain all assigned work queues according to supervisor’s instructions and guidance
- Interact positively and in a caring manner with patients, co-workers, and others to provide highest level of customer service
- Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and refer to clinical team as needed
- Sanitize registration equipment between each use and restock basic supplies
- Schedule follow-up appointments per the physician’s order
