The Patient Access Representative Associate welcomes and registers patients, collecting demographic and financial data, and plays a crucial role in connecting individuals with necessary healthcare services.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients in person
- Collect demographic and insurance information
- Check in and interview patients to complete appropriate paperwork
- Direct patients to their appointment or procedure
- Document issues and resolutions in electronic medical record
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers and interpret results
- Explain cost information to patients and collect co-pay or deductibles
- Screen and approve patients for financial assistance programs
- Provide customer service for inbound and outbound telephone calls
Requirements
- 6+ months of customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, food service, bank/office settings, call center, or other settings that engages with customers
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday - Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Qualifications
- 6+ months of customer service experience in healthcare, retail, food service, bank/office settings, or call center
