Part-Time Tutor, Learning Resources

About This Role

This role is for a Part-Time Tutor who provides academic tutoring and motivates students to achieve their academic goals. The tutor will assist students with various academic needs and monitor their overall progress.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model and motivate students to achieve academic success
• Assist students with their academic needs
• Attend all tutor trainings and required meetings
• Complete tutoring reports
• Monitor student's progress
• Guide students to use educational software at the labs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent accredited GED
• Completed one (1) specified college discipline course from a regionally accredited institution
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized skills
• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Ability to assess and provide guidance to students on the use of educational software
• Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent accredited GED and completed one (1) specified college discipline course from a regionally accredited institution

Nice to Have

• Master’s/Doctorate degree or Specialized Certification (i.e., nursing, computing/networking)
