About This Role

This role involves overseeing the checkout area and providing exceptional customer service while processing sales transactions and supporting front-end associates. The Head Cashier ensures efficient checkout operations and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist customers at self-checkout registers, proactively recommending products and services.
  • Deliver SMART customer service by understanding needs, locating merchandise, and assisting with projects.
  • Operate a cash register to process sales, returns, and refunds according to company guidelines.
  • Provide monetary change to CSA Front End associates and offer supervision, coaching, and support to the team.
  • Prepare the register area for shifts, stock supplies, and inspect returned merchandise.
  • Enter customer orders, print tickets, verify receipts, and look up product information for price matching.
  • Monitor store entrances and exits for security risks and communicate issues to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and work areas, adhering to safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
  • 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of retail experience as a cashier is required, with less than 1 year of experience using computers and common retail technology.

Nice to Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees.
  • Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting.
