Respond to EMS calls and provide urgent and emergent patient care as a Paramedic for WellSpan Health. Administer I.V. fluids, provide health education, and assist in patient assessment following established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Respond to EMS calls, observe safety policies, and operate emergency vehicles with due regard for others
- Prepare, hang, monitor, and administer I.V. fluids
- Provide healthcare instruction/education to patients and family members
- Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and assist in patient assessment
- Respond to emergency calls as a single Advanced Life Support Provider
- Prepare and maintain written documentation as required by the profession and the department
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of the assigned patient population
- Assess and interpret patient age specific data and provide appropriate, age specific treatment
- Maintain established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in a busy 911 system
- Certified Paramedic or Certified Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
- Valid Driver's License
- Medical Command Authorization
- Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC)
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 100, 200, 700, 800 – Hazardous Materials Awareness
- Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator (EMSVO)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
