Packer

About This Role

Pack products according to lead packer and customer specifications, preparing orders for shipment. This role involves selecting, labeling, assembling, and inspecting products and packaging materials.

Responsibilities

• Select items to be packed per packing list and instructions from Lead Packer
• Follow written and verbal instructions for packing
• Apply labels and clips; and insert product in tubes and pouches
• Measure, weigh, and count product and material accurately
• Assemble and tape boxes for shipment
• Label packages correctly before shipping
• Examine and inspect packaging materials and products for quality issues
• Identify defective products or material and document defects
• Record product weight for inventory and shipping purposes
• Consistently assemble and pack products to quality standards

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow appropriate safety procedures
• Attention to detail, concentration, and high degree of accuracy
• Reliable attendance and timeliness
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
• Ability to engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency preferred
• Entry level

Nice to Have

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Knowledge of packaging procedures
• Ability to identify packing materials and products by description and scale measurements
• Ability to use scale and adding machine to record and total weights
