About This Role

This role will track planned and unplanned power outages, managing accurate communications to provide a single source of truth for affected customers and internal teams regarding outage status and estimated restoration times. The specialist will also support critical Wildfire and outage data validation functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer outages using the Distribution Outage Management System (OMS)
  • Manage Estimated Restoration Times (ERT) by validating assets, confirming resources, and forecasting ERTs for planned and unplanned outages
  • Prepare, review, and update distribution planned customer outage switching sheets in OMS
  • Upload documents, edit, and approve tasks in the Maximo Asset System
  • Issue, monitor, and update planned outage status in real-time within OMS
  • Communicate distribution planned customer outage switching sheet changes to various stakeholders
  • Communicate with Line Crew on real-time planned outage activities
  • Monitor outage progress to ensure restoration times are met or updated appropriately
  • Assist with real-time updates in OMS for secondary voltages during unplanned outages and assist with customer callbacks
  • Prepare and update communication alerts for PGE employees and customers via OMS and the outage log
  • Monitor OMS, Maximo, Itoa, and other relevant tools/systems for Planned and Unplanned Outage Events
  • Monitor PGE’s Outage Map and Wildfire Monitoring Tools (myWorld) for real-time accuracy
  • Respond to data requests, synthesize data from multiple sources, and develop/run reports
  • Compile, analyze, and report on metric data related to departmental and system performance
  • Interact with various internal and external stakeholders for planned and unplanned outage events
  • Process distribution system configuration changes for outage data validation and tracking
  • Conduct peer-to-peer training for new hires and other key stakeholders
  • Participate in Outage After Action Reports (AAR) and data analysis
  • Lead communications and meetings with various departments for outage events

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • One or more years in operational occupations such as generation, transmission or distribution systems or a related field

  • Working knowledge of PGE’s geographic territory
