Oracle Database Administrator

About This Role

Manage, maintain, and support Oracle database environments to ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability. This Oracle DBA role is responsible for database installation, configuration, monitoring, backup, recovery, and performance tuning across various systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases (12c/18c/19c/21c)
• Manage RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments
• Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN
• Monitor database performance and conduct performance tuning
• Ensure database security, user management, and access control
• Perform patching, upgrades, and capacity planning
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis
• Work with application and infrastructure teams for database support
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures

Requirements

• Strong experience as an Oracle DBA
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL
• Expertise in RMAN, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager)
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
• Understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery concepts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience as an Oracle DBA

Nice to Have

• Experience with Oracle Exadata
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Automation/scripting using Shell or Python
