About This Role

This Optical Technician role focuses on delivering a world-class patient experience by maximizing retail sales of eyewear and supporting medical needs. The role involves dispensing and fitting glasses and contacts based on prescriptions, ensuring a seamless connection between patient requirements and available products and services.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and execute the Total Patient Experience to build relationships and deliver medical support
• Determine patient wants and needs, selling to exceed expectations
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style, color, and measurements
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer to measure lenses
• Educate and recommend specific lenses, coatings, and frames
• Accurately collect measurements such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
• Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames
• Dispense all glasses and/or contact lens orders using current process

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience interacting with customers/patients
• High school diploma or GED
• Favorable result on background check

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Previous medical office experience
• Previous ophthalmic experience
• ABO certification
• NCLE certification
