This role is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service, patient registration, and scheduling in a fast-paced medical office setting. It involves verifying insurance benefits, obtaining pre-certification, and coordinating therapy visits and ancillary testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform patient registration
- Obtain and verify insurance benefits information and pre-certification
- Schedule patients for therapy visits and ancillary testing
- Answer multiple phone lines
- Conduct professional patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial information
- Complete registration and scheduling processes efficiently and accurately
- Request and identify necessary orders for therapy staff
- Communicate with physician offices, patients, and ancillary departments regarding scheduling procedures
- Ensure compliance with pre-certification guidelines and authorization
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- General computer skills with basic internet knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer keyboarding skills
- Ability to operate multi-line phone and standard office machines
- Professional telephone etiquette
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications
- High school graduate or the equivalent with GED
- Prefer two years of medical office, call center, customer service, or clerical setting experience.
