On-Deck Summer Internship - Marketing & Communications

About This Role

Participate in a 10-week summer internship program focused on improving business operations and marketing efforts for Levy Restaurants. This role involves contributing to communication channels, supporting marketing campaigns, and working with social media.

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date on news and events at Levy venues to identify stories for internal and external communications
• Monitor Levy media and social media chatter, including competitors
• Support marketing and communications campaigns across all Levy divisions
• Brainstorm creative ideas and promotions
• Create content and write stories for digital and social media
• Contribute to media pitches, write press releases, and develop essential pitch materials
• Manage and organize photos, press releases, fact sheets, and other story materials for campaigns
• Assist with media and influencer events and activations
• Organize internal and external content calendars
• Support Levy Website updates
• Learn about and support the marketing and communications needs of Levy teams in the field
• Act as an internal marketing and communications advocate, supporting internal share outs

Requirements

• Full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university/college majoring in an appropriate discipline
• Skilled multitasker who works with a sense of urgency
• Team player with the ability to work cohesively with Levy team members and fellow interns alike
• Effective communicator comfortable engaging with potential guests, leadership and key stakeholders
• Hospitality focused individual with a desire to learn and grow within the industry
• Fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking
• Efficient in basic math and computer skills (MS Office, Outlook)
• Ability to provide own housing and transportation accommodations to Levy’s Chicago Home Office

Qualifications

• Full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university/college majoring in an appropriate discipline

Nice to Have

• Strong understanding of social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok
• Strong writing skills and sample work
• Experience or demonstrated interest in media relations, social media management, or audio/visual content development
• Graphic design skills (familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva)
• Social video editing skills (familiarity with CapCut)
