This Occupational Therapist Lead position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza by evaluating patients, creating and modifying treatment programs, and participating in discharge planning. This role involves administrative duties, performance improvement activities, and professional growth, as well as overseeing the work of aides, COTAs, volunteers, and students.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients, plan, implement, and modify treatment programs
- Utilize community resources and participate in discharge planning
- Perform administrative duties and participate in performance improvement
- Pursue professional growth and assist with student education
- Oversee the work of aides, COTA, volunteers, and students
- Function as the OT scheduling coordinator
- Coordinate new OT staff mentorship and orientation, including agency staff and travelers
- Serve as a clinical resource for OT staff
- Ensure quality of clinical practice, including documentation, evidence-based practices, and adherence to professional practice acts
- Coordinate OT meetings with group facilitation, team building, and education
- Coordinate program development as assigned by department supervisor or director
- Communicate OT staff concerns to supervisor/director
Requirements
- National Certification by NBCOT
- BLS certification
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Minimum of two years acute care experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment
- Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT)
