Floor Care Specialist

About This Role

Responsible for the comprehensive floor care of all resilient flooring and carpets throughout the hospital, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. This role contributes to the overall success of patient care by maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care on all resilient flooring and carpet throughout the hospital
• Execute general Hospitality Associate and Environmental Services duties as needed
• Operate all floor equipment including vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, and carpet extractors
• Apply knowledge of floor procedures such as dust mopping, mopping, stripping, and application of floor finish
• Handle all chemicals properly and follow infection control policies and PPE use
• Identify and report mechanical issues with floor equipment in a timely manner
• Clean and maintain flooring in patient and non-patient areas, offices, common areas, and restrooms to a high standard
• Maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly floor maintenance schedule
• Care for and clean all floor equipment

Requirements

• Operational knowledge of all floor equipment (vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, carpet extractor, imop)
• Knowledge of floor procedures (dust mopping, mopping, stripping, application of floor finish, burnishing)
• Operational knowledge of all floor chemicals used in the hospital
• Operational knowledge of floor pads used for daily maintenance, burnishing, and stripping
• Knowledge of proper handling of all chemicals and infection control policies

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1+ years experience for the care and maintenance of resilient floors preferred
