The Occupancy Specialist will manage resident records and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance with housing program regulations and providing technical assistance to residents regarding eligibility and rent schedules.
Responsibilities
- Provide information to participants and applicants of housing programs
- Provide technical staff assistance
- Assess eligibility, analyze income and assets
- Set up and maintain resident records and accounts receivable systems utilizing Real Page Software or successor programs
- Perform general clerical functions and office duties
- Assist Administrator in scheduling interviews with applicants; preparing all leasing documents for signatures
- Evaluate prospective residents' financial profiles and determines rent schedules
- Receive information from tenants in order to initiate and follow through with all aspects of resident recertification and interim recertification
- Comply with agency regulations such as HUD, tax credit, state housing authorities, RHCP regarding notification, verification and record keeping
- Determine clients' initial and continuing eligibility for housing programs
- Perform office duties such as running resident reports, community activities, and other administrative functions
- Interact daily with residents, accommodating their requests in a friendly and courteous manner
Requirements
- Must have HUD and/or Tax Credit (LITHC) recertification experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior office experience with affordable housing property management preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience
