Custodian/Janitor

About This Role

Perform a variety of janitorial and custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and order within the community, following established policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust surfaces
• Clean bathroom fixtures and floors
• Empty trash receptacles and pick up debris, maintaining clean exterior perimeters
• Strip, seal, wax, and buff floor surfaces; clean and shampoo carpets
• Clean common areas including public restrooms, elevators, offices, and lounges
• Note safety concerns and needed repairs; perform repairs or report to supervisor
• Transport tools, materials, supplies, and equipment using a utility or electric cart
• Clean and wash wheelchairs and furniture
• Clean up accidents in interior or building areas
• Attend in-service training workshops and meetings as required
• Conduct work tasks safely and in compliance with the facility safety program

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year previous janitorial/custodial or housekeeping experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Minimum of one year previous janitorial/custodial or housekeeping experience
