About This Role

The Nursing Supervisor (Registered Nurse) is responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of hospital operations and patient care areas, responding to clinical and organizational emergencies. This role supports and assists in delivering quality patient care and professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leader and resource for staff, patients, and families, providing support, guidance, and feedback.
  • Coach and direct staff in clinical decision-making, demonstrating cost-effective staffing and resource allocation.
  • Serve as on-site leadership during evenings, nights, and weekends, with access to an Administrator On-Call.
  • Develop and implement staffing plans and coordinate bed management to optimize hospital capacity.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as Rapid Response, Stroke Alerts, and Trauma, acting as Incident Command until relieved.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, assisting with patient care and guiding nursing care using critical thinking.
  • Anticipate and prioritize potential problems on shift, acting as a resource in solving administrative and clinical challenges.
  • Serve as a conduit for department and organizational communication, documenting incidents to management.
  • Manage service recovery for patient and family concerns and support organizational change initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards, participating in initiatives to improve patient care and operations.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice in the state of New Hampshire
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, ACLS, and PALS or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association
  • MOAB is required is required within 1 year
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care clinical experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing from an accredited college/university preferred or commensurate education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care clinical experience. Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
