Nursing Instructor

About This Role

Instruct nursing students within the Kern Community College District, covering a full range of nursing topics, potentially across various campus sites and teaching methodologies. This role involves curriculum development, maintaining subject matter currency, and collegial participation in departmental activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in a full range of nursing topics
• Teach at various campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, and using distance learning
• Participate in student recruitment and articulation programs
• Maintain subject matter currency
• Develop and revise curriculum
• Use computer and multimedia technology in teaching
• Participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline-specific professional activities

Requirements

• Master's in nursing OR Bachelor's in nursing AND Master's in health education or health science OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
