Assist professional nurses with patient care by performing vital sign checks, aiding with personal hygiene, assisting with patient mobility, and maintaining a clean environment on the patient unit.
Responsibilities
- Perform vital sign checks
- Perform chem sticks
- Assist patients with or administer routine personal hygiene
- Prepare patients for appointments
- Ambulate, move, and lift patients
- Assist with feeding patients
- Assist patient with bed pan and urinal service and record output
- Assist nurse with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
- Respond to call lights
- Work under the supervision of a professional nurse
- Assist in obtaining and caring for equipment
- Help maintain a safe, clean environment on the patient unit
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Nursing program with at least one clinical rotation OR Nurse Aide certification
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities including moving, transporting, and positioning patients and equipment
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Nursing program and completed at least one clinical rotation
