This role involves providing medical consultation, follow-up, and routine patient care within the inpatient transitional care unit, diagnosing and treating common acute and stable chronic diseases. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical consultation, follow-up, and routine patient care
- Diagnose and treat patients in the inpatient transitional care unit setting
- Manage common acute and stable chronic diseases
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests
- Prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies
- Document physical findings and patient care plans in medical records
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and other healthcare professionals for patient care plans
- Initiate and complete detailed patient assessments including history and physical exam
- Screen and treat patients for medical problems, consulting with supervising physicians on unusual cases
- Perform counseling/education services and patient assessments
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and make recommendations
- Orders and initiates appropriate medication, treatment, and consultation
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Wyoming
- Current BLS certification
- Current DEA certification
- 3 years' experience
Qualifications
- Master’s post masters, or doctorate from Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (COVE) or League for Nursing Accrediting Commissions (NLNAC) for NP, or completion of and certification in an accredited Physician Assistant Program for PA
- Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferred experience in specialty adult care (AGACNP)
Nice to Have
- ACLS certification
- Experience in specialty adult care (AGACNP)
