Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

About This Role

Provide comprehensive anesthesia and related care for diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures, collaborating with anesthesiologists in a team setting. This role involves preoperative assessments, developing anesthesia care plans, and maintaining appropriate patient records.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia and anesthesia related care to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and/or surgical procedures to all patients regardless of age under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist
• Prepare preoperative assessments including health histories and physical examinations
• Develop the Anesthesia Care Plan with the anesthesiologist
• Initiate and maintain appropriate perioperative anesthesia care
• Maintain appropriate patient records including quality assurance documentation
• Complete postoperative evaluations in accordance with department policies
• Participate in ongoing projects
• Support perioperative providers
• Function in accordance with all institutional policies and guidelines
• Maintain licensure, certification, credentialing, and current BLS and ACLS or PALS status at all times

Requirements

• Current and accurate resume and application completed
• Minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
• Current, or ability to obtain, Michigan RN license and certification as a nurse anesthetist prior to hire
• Current ACLS and/or PALS certification
• Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) due to radiation exposure
• Ability to work in a myriad of anesthetizing locations
• Ability to fulfill required weekend obligations
• Self-directed, reliable, demonstrate initiative and motivation to work independently
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program

Nice to Have

• Five years of adult ICU nursing experience
• Two years full time equivalent (FTE) nurse anesthesia experience in an Anesthesia Care Team model
• Demonstration of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills
• Doctoral degree from an accredited educational program
