Provide comprehensive anesthesia and related care for diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures, collaborating with anesthesiologists in a team setting. This role involves preoperative assessments, developing anesthesia care plans, and maintaining appropriate patient records.
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia and anesthesia related care to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and/or surgical procedures to all patients regardless of age under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist
- Prepare preoperative assessments including health histories and physical examinations
- Develop the Anesthesia Care Plan with the anesthesiologist
- Initiate and maintain appropriate perioperative anesthesia care
- Maintain appropriate patient records including quality assurance documentation
- Complete postoperative evaluations in accordance with department policies
- Participate in ongoing projects
- Support perioperative providers
- Function in accordance with all institutional policies and guidelines
- Maintain licensure, certification, credentialing, and current BLS and ACLS or PALS status at all times
Requirements
- Current and accurate resume and application completed
- Minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
- Current, or ability to obtain, Michigan RN license and certification as a nurse anesthetist prior to hire
- Current ACLS and/or PALS certification
- Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) due to radiation exposure
- Ability to work in a myriad of anesthetizing locations
- Ability to fulfill required weekend obligations
- Self-directed, reliable, demonstrate initiative and motivation to work independently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
Nice to Have
- Five years of adult ICU nursing experience
- Two years full time equivalent (FTE) nurse anesthesia experience in an Anesthesia Care Team model
- Demonstration of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills
- Doctoral degree from an accredited educational program
