About This Role

This role is responsible for balancing daily room, restaurant, and bar accounts, posting and balancing charges, maintaining files, and resetting systems for the next day's operations. The Night Auditor also performs front desk duties as needed, ensuring smooth financial and operational transitions between shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily Restaurant Revenue Report data by auditing Micros tapes/journals to breakdown revenue, covers, server's tips paid out and settlements by type and cashier
  • Run audit reports/journals, make corrections and adjustments, and handle all computer problems that might occur
  • Input onto the PC revenue/expenses/allowances to generate daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary
  • Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations
  • Ensure all reports and back-up vouchers are complete and filed properly and distributed to the proper person
  • Review and correct discrepancies in the Front Desk System
  • Coordinate with the front desk and restaurants/bars closing to facilitate a smooth operation of file maintenance and system reset
  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome, provide accurate information, and complete the registration process
  • Verify and imprint credit cards, handle cash, make change, balance assigned house bank, and post charges to guest rooms and house accounts
  • Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear English communication, input/retrieve messages, and retrieve mail/packages/facsimiles for customers

Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects such as accounts receivable, accounts payable
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to operate a 10-key by touch
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to understand and communicate with employees and guests
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
