Laundry Attendant

About This Role

Assure efficient retrieval, processing, and distribution of laundry to provide laundry services to guests. This role involves sorting, operating machinery, folding, and maintaining cleanliness in the laundry area.

Responsibilities

• Sort all stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard
• Maintain continuous inventory of discarded items
• Operate the ironing and folder machines according to specifications
• Process cleaned articles through the machines
• Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size
• Place stacks in specified areas of distribution
• Remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified in departmental procedures
• Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements
• Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift

Requirements

• Ability to Lift, Push & Pull up to (50) pounds
• Ability to handle frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding
• Ability to stand during the entire shift
• Ability to perform frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking

Qualifications

• No previous experience required.
