About This Role

Functions as a Graduate Nurse Resident in a hemodialysis healthcare team, providing quality patient care daily under the direction of a Staff Registered Nurse. The role adheres to FMS policies, procedures, and training while supporting FMCNA's mission, vision, values, and customer service philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care Technician’s provision of safe and effective delivery of chronic hemodialysis therapy to patients in compliance with standards
  • Delegate tasks to all direct patient care staff including but not limited to LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Dialysis Assistants
  • Assess daily patient care needs and develops appropriate patient care assignments
  • Monitor patient care staff for appropriate techniques and adherence to facility policy and procedures
  • Participate in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned
  • Ensure educational needs of patients and family are met regarding End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and related health conditions
  • Provide safe and effective delivery of care to patients with ESRD, accurately implementing treatment prescriptions
  • Review, transcribe, and enter physician lab orders accurately into the Medical Information System
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in the dialysis facility treatment area
  • Ensure all relevant data including physician orders, lab results, vital signs and treatment parameters, and patient status are documented appropriately

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program within the past 12 months
  • Required to obtain nursing license and registration within the timeline defined by state regulations or 90 days of hire
  • Current appropriate state Temporary Permit
  • Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited nursing program within the past 12 months
  • New graduate, no specific experience required beyond recent graduation from nursing program
