Network Engineer

About This Role

This role involves assisting or leading network engineering efforts, focusing on IP usage analysis, network device configuration review, and developing change plans for IP address optimization. It requires deep knowledge of network devices, DDI systems, and routing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist/Lead IP usage analysis by collecting source data (routing table, IPAM, DHCP, router/switch config, ARP entries, DNS records)
• Run initial data processing (sorting, removing duplicates) using Microsoft Excel or scripting languages
• Review configurations of network devices and related hosts in identified networks
• Develop change plans for freeing up IP addresses
• Design and configure Enterprise Networks
• Document Enterprise Network designs and configurations

Requirements

• Experience with IP usage analysis and data collection
• Knowledge of network devices (Router, Switch, Firewall, Load-balancer, Proxy)
• Knowledge of DDI System (DHCP, DNS, IPAM)
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
• Familiarity with IP network subnetting
• Ability to configure routers and switches (3+ years experience)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with configuring router and switch; 5+ years for Lead role including firewall configuration and technical leadership

Nice to Have

• Technical leadership experience (for Lead role)
• Experience using VBA script or other scripting language for data processing/reporting (for Lead role)
• Knowledge of H3C router and Juniper router
