About This Role

This Network Engineer role involves delivering technical presentations, designing and configuring customer network systems, and implementing hands-on network solutions for the Department of Defense in Springfield, Virginia.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve network outages and system failures
Provide mentorship and training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff
Serve as the primary liaison between Networking teams, Microsoft leadership, and on-shift personnel
Configure network devices via CLI, deploy patches, and optimize Layer 2/3 protocols
Monitor and enforce adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend process improvements

Requirements

5+ years demonstrated performance in network engineering technology
Demonstrated expertise with WAN/Internet transport and routing technologies (BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN)
Expertise in working with & troubleshooting cloud network technologies (ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Networks)
Top Secret w/ SCI eligibility

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or industry equivalent experience
5+ years demonstrated performance in network engineering technology
