About This Role

This role provides essential supportive patient care functions for the Mohs Surgery Department in the clinic's Surgical Area, ensuring patient safety and comfort. The technician assists with surgical procedures, sterilizes instruments, and manages pathology logs while adhering to legal and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive patient care functions for the Mohs Surgery Department in the clinic Surgical Area
  • Assist with procedures, sterile field, and cosmetic procedures under supervision
  • Administer injectables and perform other high-level skill tasks as delegated by the Surgeon
  • Demonstrate knowledge and scribe medical terminology to assist in documentation during surgical office procedures
  • Remove sutures
  • Sterilize instruments
  • Manage pathology log to ensure all results are received and communicated to patients, and treatments are completed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited program
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school
  • Certified or Registered as a Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association (willing to obtain prior to start date)
  • 1+ years of related experience as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant OR 1+ years of related surgical assistant experience
  • Access to reliable transportation

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited program and Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school
  • 1+ years of related experience as a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant OR 1+ years of related surgical assistant experience

Nice to Have

  • 1+ years of experience in a MOHS or Dermatology clinic or related department
  • Ambulatory Care experience
  • Epic experience
