MHSSI Medical Student Tutor

About This Role

Serve as a Medical Student Tutor for the Michigan Health Sciences Summer Institute (MHSSI), mentoring pre-medical students and providing MCAT tutoring.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Pre-Medical Pathways Program Manager and MHSSI Administrative Project Coordinator to support summer programming
• Serve as an MCAT tutor and medical student mentor to a group of 5 pre-medical students in the Career Development Academy (CDA)
• Host tutoring sessions for up to 4 hours/week on Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Attend a brief, weekly check-in with the MHSSI Program Assistant to provide feedback on assigned pre-med students
• Lead a tour of the University of Michigan Medical School campus for CDA/URA students
• Serve as a panelist on Medical Student Panel(s) to share insights on the journey as a medical student
• Provide meaningful feedback to URA students on their research project progress, including poster and oral presentations

Requirements

• Current Medical Student at the University of Michigan Medical School
• Available on or near the Ann Arbor campus from May 27 to July 27
