Merchandising Service Associate - Plant Service Lead

About This Role

This role involves merchandising, plant service, and customer engagement within the Outside Garden department at Lowe's. The associate will ensure products are displayed correctly, maintain signage, and assist customers while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by following Lowe's policies and procedures.
• Build relationships with vendors and verify merchandise resets meet specifications.
• Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team on project priorities and needs.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs, assist with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Respond knowledgeably to customer questions, guiding them to store areas as needed.
• Merchandise plants by planogram, price, and color block as they arrive from racks.
• Identify and order replacements for damaged or missing signage and displays.
• Update and validate wayfinding and product location signage, including digital maintenance.
• Ensure cross merchandise, side stack products, j-hooks, and gravity feed bins are appropriately placed for add-on sales.
• Assist with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
• Maintain high communication and partnership with Merchandising Service Manager (MSM) and red vest associates.
• Identify and communicate issues with quality, quantity, and additional needs to the Outside Garden Supervisor and MSM.
• Adjust fixtures, rotate stock, and display products using power equipment per service expectations.
• Review, complete, and enter completion details for assigned service and maintenance tasks, including uploading photographs.
• Ensure all displays are safe and in working order, repairing or replacing as needed.
• Repair and seal damaged packaging and boxes, including peg-hook items.
• Remove trash and move cardboard/plastic debris to the bailer and compactor.
• Replace light bulbs and report additional maintenance issues.
• Detect and report common signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks to management.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of the Outside Garden.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including conducting daily safety reviews and noting hazards.
• Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties, such as top stock safety and power equipment use.
• Operate store equipment as needed, including Zebra phone, paging system, copiers, and computers.

Requirements

• 6 Months Live nursery experience or General Merchandising experience

Qualifications

• 6 Months Live nursery experience or General Merchandising experience

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or GED
• 6 Months Lowe’s sales floor experience
• 6 Months Experience performing product merchandising tasks including reading planograms, setting up and tearing down displays
• 3 Months Experience operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment
