About This Role

Perform a variety of routine or specialized tests and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of patients in one or more laboratory areas. Ensure accurate results and maintain laboratory operations for the benefit of patient health.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls, monitor call lists, make critical value calls, and report results
  • Scan documents, organize and file test reports, and file slides
  • Identify and correct incorrect orders and address specimen issues
  • Communicate effectively with lab staff, clinicians, and customers
  • Manage inventory, stock lab supplies, and reconcile invoices
  • Assist lab leaders in developing technical procedures, protocols, and projects
  • Accession and process samples with accuracy, including receiving, centrifuging, aliquoting, and evaluating suitability for testing
  • Prioritize and accurately distribute patient samples within the laboratory
  • Access and navigate HIS and LIS to accession patient specimens and request additional information
  • Perform and document daily maintenance as specified in instrument procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science or other biological science
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist or eligibility for certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science or other biological science

  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory
