About This Role

This Medical Office Specialist position provides clerical expertise to ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care by managing reception duties, scheduling, patient registration, and records. The role supports a team dedicated to positive patient interactions within MSO - Women's Health Group Sui.

Responsibilities

  • Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet and communicate with patients and providers
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
  • Check in patients and properly document registration
  • Perform insurance verification and verify patient demographics
  • File and retrieve medical records/files
  • Copy and fax documents
  • Collect co-pays and cash from patients, get authorization on credit cards
  • Enter charges, payments, and balance the day in the computer
  • Coordinate continuity of patient care with external healthcare organizations and facilities and referrals from the primary care provider to a specialty care provider (for Patient Centered Medical Home certified practices)
  • Participate on a team for data collection, health outcomes reporting, audits and programmatic evaluation related to Patient Centered Medical Home (for Patient Centered Medical Home certified practices)

Requirements

  • Less than one year of experience

Qualifications

  • Less than one year of experience is required, one to three years of experience is preferred.
