Medical Lab Scientist II

About This Role

This role involves independently performing laboratory procedures and testing on patients of all ages. The Medical Lab Scientist II will utilize professional knowledge to accurately and timely execute, interpret, and analyze laboratory results.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform laboratory procedures for which competency has been demonstrated
• Independently perform laboratory testing on patients of all ages
• Utilize professional knowledge of laboratory procedures
• Execute, interpret, and/or analyze laboratory testing in an accurate and timely manner

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or GED plus sufficient college/technical school courses and clinical training for medical technologist certification and testing
• Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by ASCP, AMT, or AAB according to State of Georgia regulations, or ability to obtain within 1.5 years if recently moved/completed requirements.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus sufficient college/technical school courses and clinical training to satisfy requirements for testing and certification as a medical technologist, OR a Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science.
• No experience required, with 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory preferred.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's Degree in clinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology, or a life/biological science
• 1 year of supervised clinical experience as a medical technologist in a clinical laboratory
