Medical Interpreter Part-Time Instructor, Professional Certificate Programs

About This Role

This role involves providing quality and technically relevant instruction in Medical Interpreter best practices within professional certificate programs. The instructor will ensure student mastery of learning outcomes related to medical interpreting, ethics, anatomy, and terminology in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and technically relevant instruction of course curriculum
• Teach students learning strategies
• Conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulatives, props, and other learning aids
• Provide continual feedback and various methods of assessment measurement by ensuring student mastery of learning outcomes
• Assess and record grading for all homework assignments, quizzes, and tests
• Complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management
• Participate in marketing of courses to prospective students by providing technical information regarding course content
• Assist with course and/or program evaluation and continuous improvement and resolve quiz disputes
• Maintain acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores
• Keep Program Manager informed of any curriculum or student code of conduct issues
• Record attendance in learning management system

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years as a medical interpreter
• Expert knowledge in medical interpreting, HIPAA, medical ethics and law
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Certified Medical Interpreter

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Five (5) years as an interpreter in a medical setting
