About This Role

Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider, assisting with health service delivery and maintaining positive patient relationships. Ensure efficient patient flow and support for providers while documenting pertinent medical information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under supervision of a licensed health care provider
  • Assist in the delivery of health care services to patients of varied backgrounds and ages
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients and their families
  • Work effectively with fellow employees to ensure efficient flow of patients throughout their visit
  • Provide support to providers and to the attending physician
  • Communicate via phone to ensure patient needs are met timely and accurately
  • Access company's data systems to document pertinent medical information
  • Support the patient and provider throughout the patient visit
  • Ensure the patient and provider are prepared for the visit
  • Ensure the patient’s questions are answered prior to leaving and prepare the room for the next appointment
  • Provide excellent patient service through effective communication both over the phone and in person
  • Complete appropriate documentation, including patient registration if necessary
  • Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through personal professional development

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with and maintaining confidential information
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Clinical knowledge
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with and maintaining confidential information in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program
