This role is for a Medication Technician/Care Partner who will be responsible for documenting, delivering, and administering medications to residents while providing compassionate care. The position focuses on ensuring residents receive proper medication and assistance with daily living activities in a luxury senior living community.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily medications, treatments, and care within scope of practice, policy, and regulations
- Observe, verify, and document medication ingestion or application as directed
- Notify supervisor and document reasons if prescribed medication is not administered
- Maintain clear, accurate, complete, and confidential records on resident medication and care
- Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians, verifying dosages
- Track all orders for medication changes and refills, and prepare medications for distribution
- Participate in narcotic counts at the beginning and end of shifts, reporting discrepancies
- Assist caregivers and assume caregiver activities when needed
- Respond promptly and kindly to resident needs, maintaining dignity and confidentiality
- Read and follow care plans to ensure proper care delivery
- Assist residents in daily living activities including bathing, dressing, hygiene, and meals
- Provide assistance at mealtime with selecting, serving, eating, and clearing trays
- Transport residents safely using proper techniques, assisting with mobility and escorting
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one year of work experience as a Caregiver or Medication Technician
- Active First Aid/CPR/BLS Certification
- Background clearances as required by government regulations
- Meet health requirements, including TB
