This role supports the design and development of lithium-ion battery systems for portable energy storage products, working across the product lifecycle from concept to production. The engineer will perform mechanical design, CAD modeling, and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and detailed CAD modeling for battery system components and assemblies
- Develop concepts and take designs through to production, including documentation for manufacturing
- Conduct component testing and support system-level validation activities
- Perform analysis as required (thermal analysis and CFD) to inform design decisions and thermal management strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, test, manufacturing) to ensure product readiness
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Direct experience with lithium-ion battery systems or energy storage product development
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or PTC Creo (Pro/ENGINEER)
- Experience with component testing and analysis, including thermal and CFD work
- Ability to work onsite full-time
