Meat Cutter

About This Role

This position involves ensuring the quality and availability of fresh meat products at the Central Market Preston Royal location, handling all aspects from receiving to customer service, and maintaining department sanitation and organization.

Responsibilities

• Unload product from truck and transport to storage area
• Ensure quality control of all product before sending to sales floor
• Maintain sanitation in the department
• Maintain organization of back storage, freezer, walk-in and production area
• Read and execute daily production list
• Calculate figures and amounts such as weights, discounts, percentages and volumes
• Provide customer service including answering questions and taking phone orders
• Assist in monitoring the quality of goods and shrink
• Order and receive products and supplies
• Maintain transfer records
• Prep, wrap, price, sell, and stock products continuously
• Prepare customer samples for self-serve
• Provide superlative customer service
• Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Ability to work overnight and flexible schedules (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
• Ability to inform customers about ingredients
• Values diversity
• 1 year experience in food preparation and experience
• Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs.)
• Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in food preparation, with 2-5 years of related experience preferred.
