About This Role

Process, cut, and merchandise fresh and processed meats, including grinds, while maintaining sanitation and safety standards within the meat department. Provide assistance to members by making recommendations and preparing special cuts of meat.

Responsibilities

• Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats, including grinds
• Assist in merchandising of seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, pre-packed deli items, rotisserie chicken area, and full-service deli
• Assist in meat selection and cut special meat arrangements for members
• Maintain all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department
• Engage and provide assistance to members by making recommendations and answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company standards
• Ensure the meat case showcases all currently available products and maintain appropriate inventory levels
• Ensure meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked and rotate products according to expiration dates
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring quality standards are met

Requirements

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship
• Previous meat cutting experience
• At least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• Previous meat cutting experience required

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines
